| Description | 1947 Grand Prix de Marseille poster. Automobile-Club de Marseille et de Provence. This vintage poster was printed by Publicite Havas, imprimerie Moullot, Marseille. It features lovely period artwork by Andre Bermond which is very reminiscent of Geo Ham. The large poster is in A condition, linen mounted (acid-free cotton rag), and measures 45.7 x 62.3". This race was won by Eugène Chaboud in a Talbot Lago '39, followed by Enrico Platé in a Maserati 4CL & Henri Louveau in a Delage D6. Other top finishers were a Delage D6.70, E.R.A. A-Type 'R1A', Delahaye 135 S & Talbot T150C. Some notable drivers that raced here include Villoresi, Sommer, Rosier, Trintignant, Chiron & de Graffenried. The artwork features a stylized Talbot being chased by a Maserati. This stunning poster is the only known example in the world. |
