| Description | 1955 Mille Miglia program. The Auto Club of Brescia official program. This newsprint was an official publication by the ACB which listed and depicted all of the entrants and drivers. This four page foldout newsprint lists the start and end times/location/route, as well as the different classifications. Some sections have been cut out. The last page features photos or pen and ink drawings of the various drivers including Varzi, Ascari, Pintacuda, Caracciola, Campari, Nuvolari, Biondetti, etc. Measures 13.5x19.5". An additional newsprint page is included from an unknown Italian motorsport/sport publication which appears to be a complete listing of the participants/cars/classes etc. from the 1955 Mille Miglia. On the reverse is printed various articles on motorsport news items of the day. Italian text.
The event was won after an epic drive by Stirling Moss & Denis "Jenks" Jenkinson in the Mercedes 300SLR #722. Incredibly, second was taken by Juan Manuel Fangio in the Mercedes 300 SLR driving without co-driver. Third place went to Umberto Maglioli/Luciano Monteferrario in a Ferrari 118LM. |
