| Description | 1975 Emerson Fittipaldi McLaren test helmet. A very rare one of a kind AGV helmet made for Emmo to be used in testing in the McLaren M23 Ford. This helmet was designed by Sergio Cassano - head of the Ferrari Club of Valenza (who was appointed by Enzo Ferrari), and is signed by him at the back. The helmet is a prototype, designed and handmade by Cassano in direct cooperation with Fittipaldi who came to Valenza. Cassano was a good friend of Gino Amisano (AGV = Amisano Gino Valenza). It was used twice - at a test in Monza with McLaren a week after it was produced, and in a Texaco advertisement in the Italian newspapers Corriere della Sera & Gazzetta dello Sport. As a side note Cassano also designed a similar helmet for Niki Lauda after his accident. You definitely won't have any other helmets that look like this in your collection! |
